Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has been cleared to resume playing after his doping case was officially settled.
The Ukrainian international is set to travel with Chelsea to Hong Kong on Sunday for the club’s pre-season tour, marking his return to action after months on the sidelines.
Mudryk had tested positive for a low concentration of meldonium. Although prosecutors initially sought a four-year ban, the case has now been resolved after the player accepted anti-doping rule violations.
As part of the settlement, Mudryk received a sanction equivalent to the time he had already served, making him immediately eligible to play for both Chelsea and the Ukraine national team.
His return provides a timely boost for Chelsea ahead of the new season.
