The community of Opi in Nsukka Local Government Area is mourning the reported death of Oforma, one of the victims abducted during the recent attack in Ogbozalla Community.
According to community sources, Oforma was allegedly killed by his captors after reportedly becoming too weak to continue moving through the forest. His body was later recovered by security operatives and local vigilante members during search operations.
The deceased was laid to rest yesterday in his hometown of Idoha, Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area, Enugu State, as family members, friends, and residents gathered to pay their final respects.
In a positive development, the community is also expressing gratitude over the safe return of Ebuka, another victim who was abducted during the incident and has since reunited with his family.
CoalCity Connect could not independently verify all the circumstances surrounding Oforma’s death at the time of this report. Authorities are yet to issue a detailed official statement on the latest developments.
The incident has renewed concerns over security in parts of Enugu State, with residents calling for sustained efforts to protect rural communities from kidnapping and other violent crimes.
