Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the just concluded Osun State Governorship Election.
Otti, in a congratulatory message issued on Sunday, August 16, 2026, described the peaceful conduct of the election as a testament to the maturity of Nigeria’s democracy and the commitment of citizens to peaceful coexistence.
The Abia governor commended the people of Osun State for coming out to exercise their franchise peacefully, while acknowledging that some irregularities were observed during the electoral process.
He also praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for what he described as its professionalism, as well as security agencies and other stakeholders who contributed to ensuring a safe and credible electoral process.
According to Otti, the successful conduct of the election further strengthens democratic governance in Nigeria and reinforces the voice of the people in choosing their leaders.
While congratulating Adeleke on the commencement of his second tenure, the Abia governor urged him to remain focused on delivering people-centred governance, expanding opportunities and sustaining peace and development across Osun State.
Otti, who described himself as an “Abia grandson” of Osun, said Abia stands with Adeleke and the people of Osun in the shared vision of building stronger institutions and delivering the dividends of democracy.
He prayed for God to grant Adeleke wisdom, good health and the strength to continue serving the people of Osun State with distinction.
