The official vehicle of Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has surfaced online shortly after the governor disclosed that he earns a monthly salary of ₦503,000.
The disclosure has sparked reactions on social media, particularly over the reported cost and luxury status of the vehicle used by the governor.
According to a post attributed to X user @FinPlanKaluAja, the governor’s official car is a Mercedes-Maybach reportedly valued at about $207,000.

“Drive to work in a $207,000 Maybach,” the post read, highlighting the contrast between the reported value of the vehicle and the governor’s stated monthly salary.
Oborevwori had reportedly said his monthly salary is ₦503,000, while Permanent Secretaries in Delta State earn about ₦900,000. The figures have since generated debate online over the cost of running political offices and the benefits attached to public positions.
The emergence of the Maybach has added another dimension to the discussion, with social media users questioning whether the cost of an official vehicle should be compared directly with an office holder’s personal salary, given that such vehicles are typically government-provided assets.
The claims and figures circulating online have continued to fuel public debate over governance, public spending and the privileges attached to political office in Nigeria.
