The Federal Government (FG)will today inaugurate the dualisation of the Ibadan-Ijebu Ode Road at Legacy Estate, along the Idi Ayunre axis in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, said the project was part of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda to modernise critical road infrastructure, ease movement between Oyo and Ogun states, and improve connectivity to the Lagos-Ogun economic corridor.
The contract was awarded to JRB Construction Limited following approval by the Federal Executive Council (FEC), Umahi disclosed in an invitation to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, dated August 20.
He described the corridor as a key transport link between Ibadan and the Lagos-Ogun axis, expected to ease movement of people, agricultural produce and goods while reducing transportation bottlenecks.
He also stressed the need to involve traditional institutions and other stakeholders in infrastructure projects to strengthen collaboration between the Federal Government, state governments and host communities.
Oba Ladoja, in a statement issued Friday, urged the Olubadan-in-Council, Ibadan Royal Highnesses, Mogajis, Baales and the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes to attend the take-off. He described the project as a significant intervention that would enhance connectivity and stimulate economic activities across the region.
