Anambra CP Visits Family of Slain Comedian Isaac Nwosu, Orders Probe Into Killing

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, has paid a condolence visit to the family of late Isaac Nwosu, popularly known as Azia, who was recently killed in a security incident in Awka, the state capital.

The visit came on Monday, August 31, 2026, shortly after the Commissioner held a two-hour closed-door strategic meeting with the command’s strategic and operational officers.

According to the Anambra State Police Command, the meeting was part of ongoing efforts to reassess information received from members of the public, particularly within Awka, with a view to strengthening security operations and sustaining the fight against violent crime.

During the condolence visit, CP Oji Ama described the late Nwosu as an asset to Anambra State, noting that his death was a significant loss to his family, the state and the Police Command.

The Commissioner particularly acknowledged Nwosu’s contributions to the command’s security advocacy initiatives and other activities aimed at supporting peace and security in the state.

CP Oji Ama further directed the relevant operational and investigative units to intensify efforts to identify and apprehend those responsible for the killing.

He reassured the bereaved family and residents of Anambra State that the Police Command would pursue the matter with determination and ensure that every available investigative avenue is explored.

The Commissioner also urged Ndi Anambra to continue to have confidence in the integrity of the police force and its investigative processes as the command works to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident and bring the perpetrators to justice.
