A Nigerian man has sparked reactions online after expressing frustration over the country’s economic situation and urging citizens to take the 2027 general election seriously.
In a viral video, the man questioned why Nigerians who are struggling with the rising cost of essential commodities would still support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the polls.

He cited the prices of fuel, cooking gas and cement as examples of the economic hardship being experienced by many Nigerians.
According to him, Nigerians currently buy petrol for about ₦1,300 per litre, cooking gas for around ₦1,400, while a bag of cement sells for between ₦13,000 and ₦14,000.
He said Nigerians would have no one to blame if, despite experiencing the hardship, they returned to the polls in 2027 and voted for Tinubu.
Nigerians, you buy fuel for ₦1,300, you buy gas for ₦1,400, you buy cement ₦13,000–₦14,000 per bag. Then on Election Day, you get to your polling unit and decide it’s Tinubu you want to vote for.”
The man described such a decision as a sign that Nigerians had been subjected to something beyond ordinary persuasion, saying humorously that even a spiritual father might not be able to “deliver” them from it.
He further urged Nigerians to use their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) responsibly and make their votes count in the 2027 presidential election.
