Tinubu Approves N450m Relief for 18 Businesses Affected by Calabar SPAR Fire — Remi Tinubu

First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has announced that President Bola Tinubu has directed the release of N25 million each to 18 business owners whose goods and properties were destroyed in the fire incident at the SPAR Shopping Mall in Calabar, Cross River State.

The First Lady made the disclosure during the launch of the South-South Community Food Bank initiative in Cross River State, an intervention targeted at vulnerable children, pregnant women and nursing mothers.

According to Remi Tinubu, she and the President watched the report of the fire incident at the Calabar SPAR Shopping Mall on television, prompting the President to order immediate assistance for the affected business owners.

With 18 businesses identified as beneficiaries, the intervention amounts to a total of N450 million.

The First Lady said the support was aimed at helping the affected entrepreneurs recover from the losses suffered in the tragic incident.

The announcement comes as the Federal Government continues to roll out interventions targeted at vulnerable Nigerians and communities affected by emergencies.

The Calabar SPAR fire had left several business owners counting losses after their goods and property were destroyed in the incident.
