Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has reacted to the appearance of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, at the inauguration of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) campaign office in Abuja.

Obi attended the event on Monday, where the APM formally unveiled its campaign office ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The former Anambra State governor’s presence at an event organised by another political party has sparked political reactions, particularly following his emergence as the NDC’s presidential candidate.

Commenting on the development, Sani used a soft drink analogy to describe what he perceived as a contradiction in Obi’s political engagement.

“Peter is selling Pepsi and he is doing promo for Coke,” Sani wrote in a post on his verified X handle on Tuesday.

The event brought together several prominent political figures, including APM National Leader and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed.

Mohammed, while speaking at the occasion, urged Nigerians not to underestimate the APM and its presidential candidate as preparations intensify for the 2027 elections.

Obi’s attendance has consequently generated discussions over political alliances, opposition strategy and the possibility of broader cooperation among parties ahead of the 2027 presidential contest.
