A popular APC supporter identified as White Nigerian has appealed to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to intervene in an alleged dispute involving his father’s property in Jabi Lake, Abuja.
In a post making the rounds on social media, White Nigerian alleged that officials of the FCT Development Control were attempting to take over or demolish part of their property, which he said was designated for a park where they were developing Monoliza, Jabi.
According to him, the family obtained the necessary approvals for the development, including Development Control approval and ministerial approval.
He also claimed that they had paid for the Right of Occupancy (R of O) and Certificate of Occupancy (C of O), following a directive that operators of parks in the FCT should regularise their titles.
Addressing Wike directly, he wrote: “Dear Wike, your staff are trying to take one of our lands in Jabi Lake. It’s meant for a park where we are building Monoliza, Jabi. We have development control approval and ministerial approval.”
He further appealed to the minister to intervene in the matter, saying his father had undergone heart surgery a day earlier and was currently receiving treatment in hospital.
“My dad had a heart surgery yesterday and is in hospital and today Wike has sent development control to his land in Jabi while he’s in the hospital,” he stated.
The APC supporter expressed concern over the possible impact of the alleged action on his father’s health, adding: “If anything happens to my dad, walahi it will not be funny with anybody.”
The allegations have sparked calls for clarification from the relevant FCT authorities, particularly on the status of the property, the approvals reportedly obtained by the family and the reason for the Development Control officials’ intervention.
