Lady Recounts How Sharing Achievements Online, in Church Allegedly Preceded Hardship

Nigerian Lady

A lady has shared a personal account of how publicly celebrating her achievements online and in church was, in her view, followed by a difficult period in her life.

According to her, she once completed a major sale involving more than 6,000 orders and shared the achievement online. She claimed that shortly afterwards, she began experiencing unusual difficulties at her store.

She also warned against publicly sharing testimonies in church, recalling an incident when her mother took her and her siblings to church on January 1 and publicly celebrated her recent admission into school.

The woman said her family had recently moved into a new house that was still largely unfinished, with no ceiling and very little inside. She said her mother took the microphone in church and spoke about the positive developments in their lives.

However, she claimed that the family later experienced severe hardship. According to her, she eventually had to drop out of the school because they could no longer afford the fees.

She further revealed that, at one point, her family considered sending her to Libya because of their difficult circumstances. She said the situation became so severe that she was even given a hijab in preparation for the possible move.

Reflecting on the experience, she said the period left her feeling that their lives had been severely disrupted.

She concluded by suggesting that people should be cautious about publicly sharing their achievements, both on social media and in religious settings, based on her personal experience.
