………As the President of Ngwo Clan General Assembly Condemns the Party From Coming to Campaign in Ngwo Land.
The great people of Ngwo under the auspices of Ngwo Clan, have rejected the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and all its candidates, declaring their support for Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and other candidates endorsed by the community.
The position was contained in a press release signed by the President of Ngwo Clan General Assembly, Hon. Barr. Kenneth Ani Kofi, dated September 11, 2026, and sent to newsmen in Enugu.
He accused the NDC of marginalizing Ngwo people politically and failing to recognise the clan’s historical contributions to the development of Enugu State.
He stated that they are particularly concerned that, despite the participation of Ngwo sons and daughters in the party and the purchase of nomination forms for various elective positions, the NDC did not give any of them a ticket.
He also cited the case of an Ngwo son who, according to him, won the party’s State House of Assembly primary for Udi South Constituency but was not eventually fielded as its candidate.
The President also recalled the contribution of late Chief C.C. Onoh to the struggle for the creation of Enugu State, questioning why the NDC would allegedly treat Ngwo people with political dichotomy and create what it described as a sectional political structure in the state.
The President therefore declared that Ngwo sons and daughters would not vote for the NDC or its candidates, while advising the party not to embark on campaign activities in Ngwo land. It said the decision was a response to what it described as the collective position of the ngwo people.
He said that his people have endorsed Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, Distinguished Senator Osita Ngwu, Sen. Kelvin Chukwu, Hon. Chimaobi Sam Atu, Dr. Festus Uzor, Dr. Okey Aneke, the Chairman of Enugu North Local Government Area, Dr. Ibenaku Harford Onoh, and Engr. Hyginus Agu, as well as APC candidates across all levels.
According to the President, his decision was based on the belief that APC had demonstrated commitment to equity, justice, fairness, inclusive governance and development in Enugu State. He further assured Governor Mbah of the support of Ngwo people and pledged to mobilise voters for APC, beginning with the forthcoming local government elections.
“He said that APC is committed to inclusive governance, fairness, equity and justice. He believes effective representation requires leaders who listen to the people, respect diverse interests and promote development across the board.
The President of Ngwo Clan General Assembly therefore assures Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah that the good people of Ngwo Clan will work hard to deliver APC in all elections, starting with the forthcoming local government elections.”
The President of Ngwo Clan also praised the sterling leadership of Distinguished Senator Dr. Osita Ngwu, Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial District, for his outstanding representation, road infrastructure, scholarship, empowerment and human capacity development. He also commended Dr. Ibenaku Harford Onoh as the Executive Chairman of Enugu North Local Government Area, citing his administration’s achievements in health, youth empowerment, staff unity and coordination, education, health, human capital development, security, infrastructure, amongst others, adding that his re-election will be one of the easiest things to do because he performed beyond expectations.

The President of Ngwo Clan General Assembly wants to use this opportunity to let the general public know that his people have condemned in strong terms the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) marginalization and dichotomy towards their historical political background, remembering how their son, late Chief C.C. Onoh, fought for the creation of Enugu State. He wondered why the NDC chose to damage Ngwo Clan politically and created a sectional political party called Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Enugu State.
The party has shown great political dichotomy towards Ngwo Clan, and we have also resolved to reciprocate the same hatred towards the party. NDC is a party that Ngwo people accepted as an alternative to APC and PDP, and our sons and daughters bought forms and ran for so many electoral positions in the State. Despite this, the party did not deem it necessary to give even one of our sons or daughters a ticket, notwithstanding that one of our sons won the State House of Assembly primaries in Udi South Constituency, yet the party could not deem it necessary to field him as a candidate.
The President hereby rejects NDC and all its candidates from the presidency down to councillorship and affirms that all Ngwo sons and daughters across Enugu North, Enugu South and Udi Local Government Areas will not vote for NDC and that the party should not bother coming for a campaign in Ngwo land.
He said that his people endorse the candidacy of His Excellency Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, our Senator, Our Pride, Distinguished Senator Osita Ngwu RG, Hon. Chimaobi Sam Atu, Dr. Festus Uzor, Dr. Okey Aneke and the current Council Chairman of Enugu North Local Government Area, Dr. Ibenaku Harford Onoh, Engr. Hyginus Agu, as well as all APC candidates across all levels because the party has shown commitment to equity, justice, fairness and good governance in the State.
