Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived at the United Nations Headquarters in New York to attend the opening session of the General Debate of the 81st United Nations General Assembly.
VP Shettima, who is representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and leading Nigeria’s delegation to the global gathering, is accompanied by senior members of the Nigerian delegation, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Permanent Representative of Nigeria to the UN, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development and other senior officials.
The General Debate opened with addresses by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and United States President Donald Trump, as world leaders began outlining their countries’ positions on major global issues.
