Nollywood veteran actor Pete Edochie has opened up about how he has managed to remain committed to one wife despite his fame and decades in the entertainment industry.
The legendary actor said he married young and has been married for 57 years, attributing his commitment partly to his lifestyle, faith and personal interests.
According to Edochie, he does not get easily distracted by women because he spends much of his time at home reading, listening to classical music and keeping himself occupied.
He said:
I married early. I’ve been married for 57 years. It is difficult to keep, and I don’t get distracted easily. And that’s one of the biggest blessings I have.”
Edochie also disclosed that he once struggled with excessive drinking and smoking but has since abandoned both habits.
He further described himself as a committed Christian, stressing that women do not easily distract him.
I’m a very big Christian. Yeah. I’m a big Christian, and women don’t distract me. I’m just being honest with you. It doesn’t mean I’m a wonderful man,” he said.
The actor explained that his lifestyle largely revolves around staying indoors, reading and listening to classical music.
Most of the time I’m inside the house, I’m playing classical music, or I’m reading some material. I’m always very busy doing one thing or the other,” he added.
Edochie ended the exchange humorously, telling the interviewer: Don’t ask me that kind of question again.
