Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has renewed his criticism of activist and presidential aspirant Omoyele Sowore over the ongoing legal dispute involving businessman Linus Williams Ifejika, better known as Blord.
VDM, in a statement directed at Sowore, referenced Sowore’s earlier declaration that he would work to secure Blord’s release and have the case discontinued. Sowore had publicly stated in April that he would push for the case to be discontinued after Blord was remanded over allegations including criminal conspiracy, impersonation and unauthorised use of VDM’s identity.
However, VDM argued that Sowore could not unilaterally end a case involving him, insisting that the legal process would continue.
He wrote:
Blord just left court with his SAN in the same case you said you would discontinue. Use that mouth you used to say you would end the case to tell them YOU CANNOT END A CASE THAT INVOLVES VERYDARKMAN.”
VDM further claimed that the matter had been adjourned to December 8, 2026, and vowed to see the case through regardless of how long the proceedings take.
“Even if the case takes 10 years, we will see to the end,” he said, while accusing Sowore of attempting to interfere in a matter involving him.
The dispute between the two public figures escalated after Sowore intervened following Blord’s arrest and remand. At an earlier court appearance, VDM said the matter had become a personal challenge to demonstrate to Sowore that he could not determine the outcome of the case.
VDM also took aim at Sowore’s political ambitions, telling him to step down from the presidential race and consider seeking a lower political office instead. He declared that Sowore would never become president of Nigeria.
Sowore, who has previously contested Nigeria’s presidential election, has maintained that his intervention in the Blord matter was motivated by concerns over due process and the use of criminal law.
