The Kano State Police Command has returned a recovered orange Vibe car and an ash-coloured Haojue motorcycle to their respective owners following the verification of ownership documents.
The handover, which took place at the command headquarters in Bompai, Kano, followed intelligence-led police operations that led to the recovery of the vehicles.
The command’s Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday.
According to the statement, the vehicles were returned to their owners after the necessary documentation and verification processes had been completed.
The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the police for recovering their properties, describing the development as a demonstration of the command’s commitment to protecting residents and building public confidence in law enforcement.
The Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, congratulated the beneficiaries and said the recovery aligned with the policing vision of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu.
Bakori explained that the initiative emphasised the protection of lives and property, the return of recovered stolen items to their rightful owners and the promotion of public trust through transparent and accountable policing.
He assured residents that the command would sustain efforts to improve security across Kano State and ensure that recovered properties were returned to their legitimate owners after proper verification.
“The Command remains resolutely committed to making Kano State safe and secure,” the commissioner said.
The police also encouraged members of the public seeking information about recovered properties to contact the investigating police officer on 08140081608 or visit the office of the Police Public Relations Officer at the Bompai Police Headquarters.
The command reiterated its commitment to intelligence-driven operations and the protection of property as part of efforts to strengthen security and public confidence in Kano State.
