APC Supporters Injured as Two Buses Collide on Way to Lafia Mega Rally

Several supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Benue State have been injured following a head-on collision involving two buses conveying them to the party’s North Central mega rally in Lafia, Nasarawa State.

The accident occurred along the Government House route in Lafia town as the supporters travelled to participate in the political gathering.

The injured supporters were reportedly loyalists of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.

Confirming the incident, Dan Ihomun, the factional Publicity Secretary of the APC in Benue State, said the two buses collided head-on but no lives were lost.

“They are APC supporters in Benue. They were in two buses. They had a head-on collision, but there was no loss of life. The people have been taken to the hospital,” Ihomun said during a telephone conversation.

He explained that the injured passengers had been taken to a hospital for treatment, adding that no fatalities were recorded in the incident.

The accident disrupted the supporters’ journey to the rally, although details of the number of people injured and the severity of their injuries were not immediately available.

The exact cause of the collision had yet to be established as of the time of filing this report.
