Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on Tuesday appeared before the Kaduna State High Court as proceedings resumed in his corruption and money laundering trial.
El-Rufai arrived at the court premises at about 11:50 a.m., ahead of the hearing scheduled for noon on October 13, 2026. He was accompanied by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Kaduna State, Ashiru.
Security was beefed up around the court premises ahead of the proceedings as attention shifted to the resumed trial.
The case stems from corruption and money laundering charges filed against the former governor by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
Justice Darius Khobo had earlier directed the anti-corruption agency to produce El-Rufai in court for the resumed hearing.
