The As Tinubu & Mbah Moves 2027 (ATM) Support Group has held its maiden stakeholders’ meeting in Enugu State as part of efforts to mobilise grassroots support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid and Governor Peter Mbah’s second-term ambition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group, initiated by the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, SAN, brought together selected members from the 17 local government areas of Enugu State to establish a coordinated political structure ahead of the elections.
Speaking at the meeting, Udeh praised the leadership of President Tinubu and Governor Mbah, describing their leadership as great and urging members to support their administrations through active political participation and grassroots mobilisation.
The minister said the 2027 elections would be determined by competence, performance and the ability of political leaders to deliver on their promises, rather than sentiments.
He charged members of the support group to work towards building a formidable political structure capable of mobilising voters from the polling-unit level through wards, local governments, zonal structures and the state level.
Udeh stressed the importance of purposeful political engagement, urging members to approach their responsibilities with clear objectives and a commitment to achieving the group’s goals.
“Politics is not about emotions. It’s about participation. It’s about objective. It’s about purpose,” the minister said.
He explained that the initiative was established to support Governor Mbah’s political ambition, noting that the governor’s decision to appoint him as a minister had provided an opportunity to encourage broader political participation and strengthen political engagement ahead of 2027.
The group’s coordinator, Igboke Onyebuchi, also praised Udeh, describing him as a capable leader whose political vision and commitment to grassroots mobilisation would help advance the group’s objectives.
Onyebuchi said members were selected from across the state based on their capacity and integrity, expressing confidence in their ability to build a strong political network in support of Tinubu and Mbah.
He called on residents of Enugu State to engage with the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying the support group would work to mobilise support for the president’s re-election and the governor’s second-term ambition.
The coordinator further commended Governor Mbah for providing Udeh with the opportunity to serve at the federal level, noting that the establishment of the support group was also an expression of appreciation for the governor’s leadership.
As part of efforts to strengthen its grassroots structures, chairpersons and secretaries of the group’s local government chapters were elected during the meeting ahead of the planned inauguration of the structures.
Participants at the meeting made contributions and expressed their readiness to work with the minister to expand the group’s reach across the state.
The meeting marked an initial step in the group’s preparations for the 2027 general elections, with members expected to intensify mobilisation and coordination across Enugu State in the coming months.
