Akelicious reports that the Federal High Court on Thursday removed Governor Hope Uzodimma as the APC candidate for the 2027 Imo West Senatorial District election and directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to publish Okorocha’s name as the party’s candidate.
The court reportedly held that Okorocha won the APC senatorial primary conducted in May 2026, paving the way for his name to replace that of the incumbent governor on the party’s ticket.
Following the judgment, social media users began circulating an old clip showing Wike and Okorocha celebrating together. The video has attracted renewed attention, with many users discussing the political relationship between the two figures amid the latest development.
The resurfaced footage has also triggered conversations about the possible political implications of the court ruling, particularly against the backdrop of recent disagreements between Wike and Uzodimma.
Recall that Wike and Uzodimma recently fell out following the Imo governor’s reported disapproval of the Rainbow Coalition.
However, the resurfacing of the video does not, on its own, establish any connection between Wike and the court’s decision.
The ruling and the renewed circulation of the footage have added another dimension to the political developments surrounding the APC’s 2027 senatorial contest in Imo West.
