Twelve states across Nigeria recorded the lowest number of political violence events in October 2026, with seven states reporting just one incident each, according to data from the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data (ACLED).
The states are Abia, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Ekiti and Imo, which recorded one political violence event each during the period under review.
Bauchi, Bayelsa, Ogun, Osun and Rivers followed with two reported events each.
According to the figures published by Statisense, the 12 states collectively accounted for 17 of the 573 political violence events recorded nationwide in October, representing approximately three per cent of the national total.
A breakdown of the figures shows that the South-East had three states on the list: Abia, Ebonyi and Imo, while Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers represented the South-South.
The South-West was represented by Ekiti, Ogun and Osun, while Bauchi was the only North-East state on the list.
The report further indicated that Gombe and Jigawa recorded no political violence events during the period.
However, the figures represent reported incidents of political violence and should not be confused with fatalities arising from such incidents.
The data provides an overview of the distribution of reported political violence across the country, highlighting states with relatively fewer incidents in October 2026.
The figures were compiled from ACLED data and published by Statisense.

Your report about election violence in October is not a fact and is biased. For example attacks on opposition in Enugu state , to the level of the death of a young man, was not captured by your survey. I don’t believe it’s an oversight, it’s a deliberate attempt to cover up the on going coercion in Enugu state
