A 30-year-old woman identified as Habila Luka has been found dead with gunshot wounds and multiple machete cuts along Bin Kwahas Road in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident reportedly occurred on Friday, November 6, 2026, following the discovery of her body along the road at about 6:30 a.m.
Troops of Sector 8, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), deployed in Bin Kwahas, were said to have responded to a distress report concerning the discovery of the corpse.
Upon arrival, the troops confirmed the woman’s identity and observed several gunshot wounds and machete cuts on her body.
Preliminary reports linked the attack to suspected Fulani militias, although the circumstances surrounding the killing remain unclear.
The deceased’s body was subsequently evacuated by her relatives.
Meanwhile, an investigation has commenced to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible for the killing.
