The youth wing of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a 72-hour ultimatum to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), demanding an immediate reversal of the derecognition of the David Mark-led National Working Committee or face massive nationwide protest.
ADC National Youth Leader, Balarabe Rufa’i, disclosed the position of the wing while addressing journalists on Monday in Abuja.
Rufa’i alleged that the electoral body is working to undermine democratic processes and warned that failure to comply would trigger coordinated peaceful protests and civic mobilisation across the country.
On April 1, INEC removed the names of the National Working Committee of the African Democratic Congress, led by David Mark, from its official portal, citing compliance with a Court of Appeal order.
ADC had faced a leadership crisis since 2025 after it received decamping opposition members for its coalition plans.
