The Ondo State Government has maintained that the ongoing Akotogbo Ijuosun Road Project is progressing steadily in accordance with contractual agreements and specifications, addressing concerns recently raised by a community-based group.
In a statement released on Saturday, Comrade Allen Sowore Esq., Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Strategic Communication, clarified that the concerns expressed by a group identified as Concerned Akotogbo Youth and signed by Mr. Obanor Dare were premature and did not reflect the actual state of work on the site.
According to the statement, a physical inspection and administrative review confirmed that the contractor is working in line with the agreed standards. The government, through Allen Sowore, explained that temporary inconveniences to commuters, especially during the rainy season, are a normal occurrence in the course of major road construction and should not be misinterpreted as abandonment.
Residents of Akotogbo and Ijuosun communities were urged to remain calm and assured of the project’s completion as scheduled.
The statement also encouraged local youths to engage constructively on development matters and to support infrastructural projects designed to improve their communities.
