A young man has shared his painful experience after allegedly being brutalized by the Enugwu-Ukwu Anti-Cult Police Unit. According to him, he was simply at a shop buying food items when he was picked up alongside others with no explanation.

They were reportedly taken to the station, subjected to torture, and pressured to confess to crimes they insist they knew nothing about. In the end, freedom came at a cost — ₦113,000 for him, while others reportedly paid ₦610,000, ₦263,000, and ₦50,000.

Even more troubling, some students allegedly picked up from their hostel are still being held.

This raises serious concerns about abuse of power, unlawful detention, and extortion.

Authorities are being called upon to urgently investigate these claims and ensure justice is served.
