Fresh controversy has trailed the pro-Tinubu “City Boy” movement in the South East following explosive claims by Chidi Mike, a known associate of prominent nightlife figures Obi Cubana and Cubana Chief Priest.
In a strongly worded statement, Mike alleged that the movement failed to gain traction in the region after he exposed what he described as a ₦30 billion fund allegedly distributed to key promoters of the initiative. According to him, the campaign “collapsed before it even gained momentum.”
He further claimed that Seyi Tinubu, who reportedly spearheaded youth engagement efforts, misjudged the influence of some individuals recruited into the movement, particularly among the Igbo population.
Mike alleged that several figures involved were driven by personal gain rather than genuine political mobilization, stating that “their mission was dead on arrival” as many people in the region have begun to question their intentions.
He also criticized the alleged use of large sums of money for political campaigning, arguing that such funds could have been redirected to address pressing economic challenges facing Nigerians.
“These resources could have been used to ease the suffering of citizens, but instead, nothing meaningful was done,” he said, describing the situation as “deeply disappointing.”
