……As Delta Police Command Nabbed Patani LG boss, Perez Omoun
….Delta IPAC Boss Says LG Election should be done with Elements of Decorum by All Political Parties.
The Leadership of Inter-party Advisory Council (IPAC), Delta State Chapter led by its Chairman, Comrade Emeka Umerah Bidokwu has Condemned an Alleged attack launched yesterday in Asaba, Delta State capital on the Properties, at the premises of Delta State Commissioner For Energy, Hon. Basil Ganagana by the Executive Chairman of the Patani Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr Perez Omoun as a result of the battle on the ongoing LG Council Elections primaries in the state.
Delta IPAC Leadership in a press Statement made available to Newsmen today being 14th December, 2020 in Delta IPAC State Secretariat in Asaba, which was Personally signed by the State Chairman, who doubled as the State Chairman of Action Alliance (AA) Party urges for calm among Deltans as Perez was said to had been arrested by men of the Nigerian Police, Delta State Command.
The Delta IPAC Boss, Comrade Emeka Umerah Bidokwu while condemning the act as barbaric and uncivilized, urged all Councillorship and Chairmanship aspirants to avoid violence in the forthcoming March 6th, 2020 LG Council elections in Delta State. He also enjoined Political Parties Chairmen in the State to caution their members in the forthcoming Local Government Election to avoid the destruction of lives and properties or breach of peace and security as a result of some evil elements in the race.
He further Stated that Hon Perez Omoun was said to be in custody at the GRA Police Division in Asaba, he was napped yesterday by men of the Nigerian Police at the early hours of Sunday, 13th December, 2020 as he reportedly forced his way to gain access into the Commissioner’s Compound in GRA, Asaba residence and Launched attack on Commissioner’s driver. The LG Boss was also allegedly to had pulled down the commissioner’s gate after ramming into the iron gate with his Lexus SUV. From the pictorial evidence being circulated on social media, the cars belonging to the commissioner and his wife and other vehicles parked inside the premises were vandalised.
Delta IPAC Boss hinted that the pandemonium might not be unconnected with the forthcoming local government election in the state and the duo hail from the same LGA noting that there are other avenue to resolve electoral matters instead of resulting to self help or taking laws into your hands.
It was rumored that Omoun was said to have allegedly got fillers that his second-term bid might be frustrated by some persons, particularly the serving Commissioner in his Local Government Area of the state. But my advice on this ground is that we should not take laws into our hands rather Political grievances should be handled with all sense of civility and decorum.
“Delta IPAC Leadership also use this opportunity to call on Desiec to be more guided and to also partner with IPAC in areas of sensitisation to the people while a peaceful LGA election is of Paramount important as the state cannot afford to deal with any breach of peace in the state in this festive season and during the LGA election”, Delta IPAC Boss, Comrade Emeka Umerah Bidokwu Stated..
