The youth wing of apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has felicitated with former governor of Enugu State, Rt Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi over his induction in the Hall of Fame of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Enugu Council.

The NUJ, Enugu Council, under Comrade Obinna Ogbuka as Chairman, had in a press statement announced that Ugwuanyi would tomorrow, Thursday, be inducted into its Hall of Fame owing to his performance while in office as well as robust relationship with journalists in the state.

Reacting, the National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike described it as an honour well deserved.

Okwu, while hailing the NUJ leadership in Enugu for recognizing excellence, said it was even more appreciated as it came while Ugwuanyi was no longer in office.

“This goes on to show that whatever we do when we are in the corridors of power, people are watching, and a time comes when they either enlist us in a Book of Infamy or a Book of Fame.

“In the case of His Excellency Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, that the NUJ Enugu Council chose to induct him into the Hall of Fame is not by accident; it is an honour well deserved for the quality service he rendered to humanity while in office.

“We commend the NUJ for recognizing excellence, for honouring a man of peace who restored the face of the Enugu Press Centre.

“The entire Ohanaeze Youths are delighted to associate with a man of peace, humility, dignity and bold achievements and we congratulate him for this honour coming from the fourth estate of the realm,” Okwu stated.

He added that for the honour to be coming at the same time Ugwuanyi was nominated as an ambassador by President Bola Tinubu speaks volumes.
