APGA Mayoral Candidate Igwebuike Receives Award for Educational Support in Ayamelum

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Mayoral Candidate for Ayamelum Local Government Area, Amb. Mgbechi Emmanuel Igwebuike (Evang), has been honoured with an Award of Merit for his contributions to education and community development in Omor, Anambra State.

Igwebuike received the recognition on February 28, 2026, from the management of Amikwe Community Secondary School, Omor, in appreciation of what the school described as his selfless service and commitment to supporting the growth of the community.

The award was presented by the Principal of the school, Ifediegwu Benedette Ugochukwu (JP), on behalf of the school management. Amikwe Community Secondary School is widely known as the only Smart School in Ayamelum Local Government Area.

During the presentation ceremony, the school registrar also confirmed that Igwebuike had fully paid the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) registration fees for five indigent students of the school, enabling them to participate in the upcoming examination.

Speaking at the event, the APGA mayoral candidate described the gesture as part of his commitment to supporting education and empowering young people in the community. He noted that investing in education remains essential for sustainable development.

Igwebuike further stated that his intervention aligns with the Free Education Policy introduced by the Governor of Anambra State, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, which aims to make quality education accessible to children across the state.

He reaffirmed his dedication to youth development and community progress, expressing optimism that Ayamelum Local Government Area will witness renewed growth through collective efforts aimed at improving education and social welfare.
