Residents of Apo resettlement, a suburb in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), have vowed to work in synergy with the police to bring crime rate to the barest minimum in the area.
The residents disclosed this during a security stakeholders’ meeting involving traditional and religious leaders as well as members of PCRC and the vigilante at the weekend.
A vigilante member, Mr. Butrus Samuel who spoke with Blueprint, called on members of the public to cultivate the culture of providing useful information to the police to enable them tackle crime, especially during the ember months.
He appreciated the effort of the DPO in charge of the area, CSP Emega John, for working with various stakeholders to chase criminal in Apo and environs away.
Samuel enjoined officers of the division to sustain patrol in all the nooks and crannies of Apo with a view to giving the residents confidence to carry out their business peacefully.
The vigilante member noted that they would continue to complement the police at all the time to tackle crime such as house burglary, theft, robbery and bag snatching among other minor crimes in the area.
