Asari Dokubo Warns U.S. Against Interference in Nigeria, Dares Donald Trump

Former Niger Delta militant leader Mujahid Asari Dokubo has issued a strong warning to the United States, declaring that any attempt by Americans to seize Nigeria’s oil resources or support the creation of a Biafran state would be fiercely resisted.

In a fiery statement circulating on social media, Dokubo said Americans who attempt to enter Nigeria for such purposes “will not go back alive.” His remarks were directed particularly at U.S. President Donald Trump, whom he accused of representing Western interests that allegedly seek to control Africa’s natural resources.

Dokubo, a controversial figure and former leader of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force, claimed that Nigeria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity must be protected at all costs. According to him, any foreign involvement in the country’s internal affairs—especially concerning its oil wealth—would be met with strong resistance from Nigerians.

The ex-militant leader also referenced the long-running agitation for an independent Biafran state in Nigeria’s southeast. The Biafra movement, largely supported by some Igbo activists, has been a source of political tension in Nigeria for decades since the Nigerian Civil War of 1967–1970.

Dokubo warned that any foreign power attempting to back the secessionist cause or exploit divisions within Nigeria would face stiff opposition from groups determined to defend the nation’s unity.
