Music executive, Audu Maikori, has called out former Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, for condemning the manner in which security agents almost arrested him at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja last week.

El-Rufai, who is very critical of the Tinubu administration, had just landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport when some security agents attempted to pick him up. He however refused to be picked up, insisting the security agents neither sent him any invitation nor did they have a warrant for him to be arrested.

Some Nigerians including activist, Deji Adeyanju, accused El-Rufai of crying foul when he did the same thing while he served as governor of Kaduna state.

In an interview with Arise TV last night, Maikori recounted how he was also ‘’abducted’’ by security agents on the order of El-Rufai when he was still governor of Kaduna state. Recall that Maikori was first arrested on February 17, 2017 on charges relating to comments he made about the Southern Kaduna killings. Audu Maikori had released a series of Tweets about the k!lling of the brother of his driver and his friends who were supposedly students of the Kaduna State College of Education. The story turned out to be false after Audu further investigated the driver’s claims with the help of the Nigerian Police, who took the driver into custody. It was discovered that he was simply latching onto his boss’s sympathy to defraud him of some money.

Audu issued a retraction and apology to the Kaduna State Government and the general public but he was arrested and prosecuted for it. After his release, the Kaduna state government orchestrate his re-arrest. The charges were later dropped against him after a full investigation was concluded.

In his interview with Arise, Audu said El-Rufai persecuted him and did not allow the police handle the investigation.
