The Mayor of Awka North Local Government Area, Hon. ThankGod Chibuike Anago, has been honoured with the 2025 Most Outstanding Mayor Award by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Anago expressed gratitude to God and dedicated the award to Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, describing him as the pillar behind his political journey. He noted that Soludo’s trust in appointing him first as Transition Committee Chairman and later supporting his election as Mayor of Awka North laid the foundation for his current strides in leadership.
Hon. Anago further extended the honour to the people of Awka North, whom he credited for their unwavering support of his “Onye Olu Obodo” mantra, which he said has been central to driving his administration’s achievements.
He also commended the NUJ, Anambra State Council, for its professionalism and for recognizing efforts in grassroots governance, assuring that the award would inspire him to greater service delivery.
“This Award will only spur us to greater service, as we remain committed to delivering the very best in local government administration to our people,” he said.
