The widely publicised clash between Big Soso and Dede on Big Brother Naija Season 10, which erupted on August 24, 2025, has taken a new turn following Big Soso’s recent interview on Yup Weekly Tea with host Princess.
New had it that on September 7 that three housemates, Big Soso, Ivatar and Doris had been evicted from the ongoing Big Brother Naija Season 10.
In a now-trending interview aired on YouTube on Saturday, alongside other evicted housemates, Doris and Ivatar, Big Soso offered a deeper insight into the root of their conflict, emphasising the theme of neglect and self-centeredness she perceived from Dede
The tension originally began when Dede referred to housemates Kola, Koyin, and Jason Jae as her “three fishes,” a remark Big Soso took personally, as she considered them “her boys.” What seemed like playful banter quickly escalated into a heated confrontation filled with accusations and insults.
Big Soso explained that her frustration went beyond the “fish” comment, citing repeated instances where Dede refused to assist her in the kitchen.
“One thing you guys need to understand is that the kitchen is a very safe place in the house… For somebody who loves to cook, you just want to be there, you know. When you’re cooking, you’re putting all of your emotions into it… There’s this joy that comes? So even people who are angry with you… Once they chop, everybody’s happy.”
She said that on two occasions, Dede was assigned to help her with kitchen duties, and whenever she asked for assistance, Dede always refused, which frustrated her and contributed to her reaction over the fish comment.
She added that Dede’s friend, Mide, noticed the growing tension and encouraged her to address it directly. Big Soso confronted Dede, raising concerns about her lack of support and inclusiveness.
“I told her, ‘I feel like you’re not supportive or a team player. You often put yourself first, and I don’t like that. Can you try to help out and be more inclusive?’ and she responded defensively, stating she (Dede) is a ‘selfish person’, and that’s when our argument escalated.”
Big Soso acknowledged that her words during the confrontation may have been harsh. “Some of the things I said, I later thought were too strong. I apologised, not to be friends, but because the words were too harsh,” she explained.
She concluded with her philosophy on beauty and character, emphasising that true beauty comes from integrity and inclusiveness.
“Beauty to me is not just waking up, doing makeup, shining… it is also in your character. And if I don’t see that in you, I will advise you and, if you don’t want to listen, you rest.”
The clash, widely described by housemates as one of the most explosive moments of the season, reveals the complex interpersonal dynamics in the house. Big Soso’s comments suggest that underlying frustrations about teamwork, respect, and selfish behaviour played a major role in the infamous fight.
