In a video shared to her social media accounts, the beauty influencer announced that she and her husband, Cody Hawken, are divorcing after two years of marriage.
Mikayla reveals that she and Cody made the decision to end their marriage at some point last year and she has spent the last few months processing it. She adds that their relationship remains amicable and they continue to speak every day.
“Cody and I are in this together. Please don’t pull us apart,” she says. “No one gets married to get a divorce.”
While she knows there will be speculation about why they are ending their marriage, Mikayla says she will not be sharing the reason because she wants to “protect” Cody.
She also emphasized that Cody’s past struggles with addiction, which the couple has been open about online, should not be speculated about.
“Please leave that out of the conversation,” she says. “They are two separate things.
