A former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Eungu State , Bede Chukwuekezie has reacted to the attack on Senator Ike Ekweremadu by aggrieved members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB,
Akelicious had earlier reported that the immediate past Deputy Senate President was petted with stones by members of the IPOB, yesterday at an event in far away Germany.
Reacting in a statement sent to Akelicious, on Saturday, Bede condemned the attack on the Senator
Full Statement,
I am from Enugu west senatorial zone and my Senator is Ike Ekweremmadu. I condemn in totality the incident that took place in Germany where he was allegedly manhandled by some hoodlums that call themselves Igbo people.
We all have constituencies in the country and we have our different representatives. Ikeoha represents the good people of Enugu west senatorial zone and he is accountable to us and no one else. If he is not doing well it is our responsibility to tell him that and not that of anyone outside Enugu west senatorial zone.
If anyone wants to call senators to order, that person should start from his or her own Senator not another person’s Senator. Ikeoha is answerable to Enugu west people and no other.
I hope the claim is not true because if it turns out to be true, we may demand explanations from the people and unreserved apology to the good people of Enugu west. In the situation our demands are not met, we may decide to learn from them and do to their various senators what they have done to ours.
