Benue Teaching Hospital Launches Modern Medical Facilities Ahead of Health Summit

Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) in Makurdi has unveiled some state – of – the – arts medical equipment to reposition the hospital into a one-stop medical hub for the North Central states in Nigeria. The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Stephen Hwande, disclose this to journalists ahead of the second varsity Health Summit slated for October 16 and 17, 2025.

At the unveiling of the state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment equipment along with upgrade of the radiographic new complex that will house advanced imaging facilities such as CT scan and MRI units, as well as other specialized diagnostic equipment and make the hospital a preferred medical destination that will attract patients from neighboring states.

The CMD in company of the Permanent Secretary ministry of health, the contractor and some senior staff of the hospital, thank the Governor of BENUE state for supporting the health sector and making health care accessible to the people, the permanent secretary ministry of health, who represented the state health commissioner, describes the equipment as rare, saying this would make the hospital second to known in the entire North Central part of Nigeria.
