The National Coordinator of the APGA Media Warriors Forum, Evangelist Chinedu Obigwe, has dismissed recent criticisms against Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, describing them as “childish propaganda” sponsored by opposition politicians ahead of the November 8 governorship election.
In a statement on Sunday, Obigwe said the opposition, particularly supporters of governorship aspirant Nicholas Ukachukwu, were relying on “blackmail and senseless propaganda” to discredit Soludo’s administration.
He condemned the circulation of a viral video showing Soludo’s convoy driving through a bad portion of the Enugu Otu road, which was mockingly labelled “Enugu Otu Dubai Taiwan.” According to him, the video originated from opposition elements, including one Ruth Esodo, and was aimed at misleading the public.
“What they did against Governor Soludo is tantamount to pouring water on a stone. Anybody making a foolish attempt to use childish propaganda to poison Anambra people’s minds against Governor Soludo is wasting his or her time,” Obigwe said.
Highlighting the governor’s achievements, Obigwe pointed to the ongoing 28.1km Enugu Otu Aguleri road project, being executed in phases, with the first 8.1km phase reportedly 95% completed. He emphasized that the road, which connects Enugu Otu, Mkpunando, and Eziagulu Otu communities, had long been considered an “impossible task” due to its difficult, waterlogged terrain.
He also noted that Soludo recently commissioned a new general hospital in Enugu Otu Aguleri, which he described as a testament to the governor’s empathy and commitment to the welfare of rural communities.
“Unlike some governors who would fly by chopper, Soludo chose to drive through the bad portions of the road to see things for himself. He is delivering governance with empathy for the downtrodden,” Obigwe added.
The APGA spokesman assured that Soludo would complete all phases of the road project and continue to deliver on his promises, urging the people of Anambra to re-elect him on November 8 for “the continuous transformation of the state.”
