President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the successful rescue of 38 worshippers abducted from the Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku, Kwara State, as well as 51 students previously reported missing from a Catholic school in Niger State.
In a statement, President Tinubu said he had cancelled his trip to the G20 summit in South Africa to personally coordinate national security efforts. He commended the swift action of security forces, whose operations led to the safe recovery of the abductees.
“I am closely monitoring the security situation nationwide and receiving continuous updates from the frontline,” President Tinubu said. “Let me be clear: I will not relent. Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety — and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people.”
The President reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the safety of all Nigerians amid ongoing security challenges across the country.
