The Governing Council of Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo (AFUED) has appointed Professor Bayode Isaiah Popoola as the institution’s first substantive Vice Chancellor.
Professor Popoola, a renowned scholar in the field of Guidance and Counselling from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, will lead the newly upgraded university into its next phase of academic and institutional development.
Born 62 years ago in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Professor Popoola boasts an impressive academic and administrative record, having served as Head of Department, Deputy Provost, and Dean at OAU. He has over 67 scholarly publications and has rendered professional services to national and international bodies including UNICEF, NECO, and the Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria.
This historic appointment marks a new chapter in AFUED’s journey as it cements its status as a full-fledged federal university of education.
