A heartbreaking incident has unfolded in Emuhu, near Agbor in Delta State, where two palm wine tappers were kidnapped earlier this week. Following the abduction, urgent rescue efforts were immediately launched, leading to the discovery of one of the victims.

Security agencies responded swiftly, with operatives from the 63 Brigade, Emuhu Vigilante Group, Anti-Cult Abavo, Operation Soup, and the Police joining forces to track the kidnappers. The search covered multiple communities including Emuhu, Abavo, Obi-Ayama, and Urhonigbe.

The breakthrough came in Urhonigbe, Edo State, where one of the abducted men was found alive. He recounted the devastating moment his colleague was murdered after the victim’s family attempted to negotiate with the kidnappers using the only money they could gather — N10,000.

The survivor’s testimony highlights the harsh and painful reality faced by many rural residents who remain vulnerable to kidnapping and violent attacks.
