The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has issued an official invitation to controversial musician and social media personality, Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, to appear for questioning over disturbing content circulating online.

In a letter dated 28th May 2025 and referenced NAPTIP/CSR/TDGI3104/1, the agency cited multiple videos allegedly posted or shared by Mr. Okoye on Instagram and other platforms. In one particularly alarming video, Speed Darlington is reported to have made statements that may amount to an admission of engaging in sexual acts with an underage girl. Other archived video materials are said to include similar admissions and what the agency described as “degrading commentary concerning minors.”

NAPTIP has warned that if these actions are confirmed, they may constitute serious offences under the following Nigerian laws:

  • The Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act (TIPPEA), 2015
  • The Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015

Mr. Okoye has been summoned to appear in person at the NAPTIP Headquarters, located at 2028 Dalaba Crescent, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, on Friday, 30th May 2025, by 9:00 a.m. He has also been advised to bring any legal representation or relevant documents that may support his position.
