President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered an extensive security cordon across forests in Kwara State following recent kidnappings and escalating terrorist activities in the area.
The President directed the Nigerian Air Force to intensify and expand air surveillance operations into the deepest parts of the forests believed to be hideouts for criminal elements. The Air Force is to maintain round-the-clock aerial monitoring and work in full coordination with ground security units already stationed across vulnerable communities.
The directive, which also extends to the Kebbi and Niger State axis, is aimed at boosting ongoing rescue efforts and dismantling terrorist camps operating within the region.
The Federal Government further urged communities to provide prompt and credible information on suspicious movements or activities to support security agencies in their operations.
