
Human rights activist and public figure, Senator Chijinkem Ugwuanyi, was reportedly attacked by suspected political thugs in Enugu State on Tuesday while attempting to purchase fuel for his vehicle.
Eyewitnesses say the incident occurred at a filling station, where the assailants allegedly confronted and assaulted him without provocation.
Details surrounding the motive of the attack remain unclear, but sources suggest it may be politically motivated.
