Brooklyn Beckham Accuses Parents of Being “Performative” and “Controlling” Amid Family Rift

Brooklyn Beckham

Brooklyn Beckham has publicly addressed his estrangement from his famous parents, David and Victoria Beckham, issuing a strongly worded statement that has reignited attention on the long-rumoured family rift.

In a series of Instagram Stories, the 25-year-old said he has no intention of reconciling with his family at this time, accusing his parents of being “performative” and “controlling.” Brooklyn wrote that he is “standing up for myself for the first time in my life,” adding, “I do not want to reconcile with my family.”

Brooklyn further alleged that his parents have spread false narratives about him in the media and have “tried endlessly” to damage his relationship with his wife, actress Nicola Peltz. He also made a startling claim about his wedding, accusing his mother, Victoria Beckham, of dancing “very inappropriately” with him during the ceremony—an allegation likely to deepen the already tense situation.

Addressing ongoing speculation that Nicola Peltz controls him, Brooklyn pushed back firmly. “The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards,” he said. “I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life.”

The public comments contrast with reports suggesting behind-the-scenes efforts to manage the conflict privately.

A source recently told Akelicious that Brooklyn sent a letter to his parents last year requesting that any communication go through lawyers, in an attempt to resolve matters away from public scrutiny.

However, another source claims David and Victoria Beckham have “repeatedly” asked Brooklyn and Nicola to sit down with them to discuss their issues and find a way forward.
