Osita Chidoka, a former Minister of Aviation on Sunday said President Muhammadu Buhari’s policies will put more Nigerians into poverty rather than lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty as claimed.
Speaking on Channels television programme ‘ Sunday Politics’, Chidoka who is the Special Adviser to the PDP National Chairman on External Engagements said the unsustainable debt profile of the country will put more Nigerians into poverty.
“It can’t happen. The President can’t lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty. The unsustainable debt profile will put more people in debt; it is going to put more people in poverty”.
“The fuel subsidy is going to put more people in poverty. The money that should go for education, healthcare is put into subsidy. We need to have a conversation on where the economy of the country is heading to” he said
