The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has issued a stern directive to troops of the newly renamed Operation Enduring Peace (formerly Operation Safe Haven), mandating them to flush out criminal elements from Plateau State and its surrounding areas.
Speaking during the unveiling of the new operational phase, General Musa emphasized that security forces must adopt a decisive approach in dealing with bandits and other violent groups terrorizing the region.
“I don’t want to hear that criminals attacked and we repelled them. There is nothing like repel. Any criminal that comes out to attack should not go back to tell the story. Every bush, every hideout where these criminals operate must be combed, and they must be neutralized,” the Defence Chief warned.
He stressed that the Nigerian Armed Forces will no longer tolerate persistent attacks on innocent citizens and urged troops to remain firm, proactive, and relentless in restoring peace.
The rebranding of Operation Safe Haven to Operation Enduring Peace is part of efforts to consolidate military strategies aimed at tackling insecurity across Plateau and neighboring states.
