…..Advises Chinese Government to treat Nigerians with love and respect
A PDP Women Mobilizer / Leader & Founder “United For A New Nigeria Initiative” Lady Juliet Anaeme have called the attention of the Nigerian Government to look into the challenges faced by our people in China who are stranded amidst the pandemic Corona-Virus.
In her message this morning; she stated “I woke up this morning more worrisome than I have ever been after receiving the videos ,audio clips and several phone calls about our Nigerian brothers and sisters who are stranded in the streets of China amidst the pandemic.
Majority I learnt are traders who travelled from Nigeria for a normal business trip and never planned for this over long stay in the hotel while some are students over there.
I call on the Nigerian government to please pay attention and listen to the cries of our people languishing in the streets of China ; the Speaker of the House and the Nigerian Ambassador to China should as a matter of urgency have a second thought and a second look into the problems our people are facing in China for a popular parlance goes, ‘where a child cries and points ,if the mother is not there his father must be there’, i suggest for a possible evacuation of our people back home, in my culture we say ‘it’s better for one to die in his father’s land than to die in the land of sojourn’, leaving our people to suffer in a foreign land probably for lack of quarantine space and facilities exposes our weakness as a country and thereby giving the Chinese government more reasons to persecute our people.
I also advice the Chinese government to take it easy on Africans and they should never allow the pandemic to make them forget in a hurry the business bonds they have shared with Africans over the years and never forget the impact & contributions Africans especially Nigerians have made and are still making towards the Economic and Commercial development of China.
I further pray and hope that the government will fully step in and address the issue amicably so as to avert impending damage and breakage of business bonds between China and Nigeria.
My thought and prayers are with our people who are stranded in China and other parts of the world, i urge you all to guide yourselves safely, keep your faiths alive as this will surely pass, by the grace of the almighty”.
