Popular socialite and entrepreneur, Cubana ChiefPriest, has openly condemned the continued enforcement of the Monday sit-at-home in the South-East, describing it as a “dumb and stupid mentality” that is hurting education, businesses, and economic growth in the region.

Expressing his frustration on Monday, Cubana ChiefPriest revealed that he organised an impromptu concert to protest the shutdown of schools, markets and businesses, insisting that Mondays are crucial to productivity and learning.

According to him, Monday represents the foundation of every new week, a time for children to gain more knowledge in school and for traders and entrepreneurs to generate income.

“Our people need to end this mentality of not allowing our kids to go to school on Mondays and shutting down markets and businesses. Monday is the kickstart of every new week to gain more wisdom in school and also make more money in business,” he said.

While acknowledging the agitation surrounding the release of Nnamdi Kanu (MNK), Cubana Chief Priest stressed that his freedom should be pursued through political negotiation rather than actions that cripple the region’s economy.

“MNNK release will be one of our negotiating powers in 2027. We will vote for who will release him. But for now, let’s create more wisdom and generate more wealth for the South-East,” he stated.

He called on government authorities to encourage schools and markets to operate fully on Mondays, while also providing adequate security to protect students, traders and business owners.

The celebrity businessman also urged the removal of market leaders who enforce sit-at-home by locking markets every Monday, insisting that the South-East is safe for daily activities.

“Our East is safe, sound, sweet to enjoy, school and trade every day except on holidays. If we can party on Monday and play street football on Monday, then why can’t we do business and go to school on Monday?” he queried.

Cubana Chief Priest concluded by urging residents to stop sabotaging the region’s progress, declaring 2026 as a year of aggressive economic growth for the South-East.

“Make we no use our hand dey spoil our own. 2026 no dulling, we move massively and aggressively to the growth of the South-East,” he said.

He also appreciated supporters and partners who made the impromptu concert a success, praying for continued blessings on all involved.
