The Dangote Group has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Ruth Otabor, who was injured in a recent accident involving one of the company’s trucks near Auchi, Edo State.
In a statement signed by the management on Sunday, August 31, 2025, the company conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of the deceased.
“Since the accident, our officials and insurance partners have been by her side, covering all financial and medical costs and supporting her family,” the statement read. It further revealed that arrangements had been made to fly Ruth to India for advanced treatment, pending medical clearance from her doctors.
“Sadly, despite these efforts and Ruth’s brave fight to live, we lost her today,” Dangote Group said.
The company emphasized that safety, accountability, and compassion remain central to its operations, adding that it is committed to strengthening its safety systems and supporting victims and their families in times of tragedy.
“May God grant her mercy and eternal rest,” the statement concluded.
